Garrett and Andrea are an active, fun-loving and very carrying couple. They have been married for approximately eight years and have a strong desire to build their family through adoption. Garrett and Andrea have a daughter who is almost five years old and a son who is almost two years old. Garrett and Andrea’s references state that they have a strong Christian Faith and will do whatever it takes to provide a nurturing safe environment for their children. They are described as being a lot of fun and having a great sense of humor. All of their references agree that Garrett and Andrea make wonderful parents.

Dear Birthmother,

We know that this is both a joyful and sad time for you. We want to thank you for choosing life for your baby. We know that your love for this baby won’t end when you place your baby for adoption but will continue throughout your life. We hope that we will be able to join together with you and love this child.
We are a family of four right now—Garrett 42, Andrea 41, Kathrine 5 and Monroe 16 months. We love children and have always wanted four children. After having Kathrine, Andrea had numerous miscarriages we realized she would not be able to carry another baby. We still wanted to have a house full of children so we chose to adopt. In March 2006, we were blessed with our adopted son, Monroe. He quickly became a very special and integral part of our family. Kathrine loves having a little brother and tries to be his second mommy. We have a very open relationship with Monroe’s birth mom and continue to see her and her family several times a year.

Garrett has worked for a successful computer company for 19 years. He works in an executive briefing center, giving presentations to customers and serving as their media specialist. Andrea is a stay-at-home mom and loves to be able to watch and help Kathrine and Monroe grow. She is home schooling Kathrine right now and wants to provide all of our children with a classical education in preparation for college. During the school year they are involved in a home school co-op on Fridays with about 300 other children. This last year Kathrine had eight other children in her class and loved going each week. Monroe enjoyed playing with all the kids in the nursery.
Andrea has a degree in special education and has worked with special needs children as well as a variety of other children ranging from infants to teenagers. |
She also has a very creative side and used to do Web and graphic design. Some of her other creative endeavors have been creating stained glass windows, stamping, scrap booking, decorating, and cake decorating. Andrea also loves to garden and work in the yard. Garrett loves hiking, photography, and shooting and editing videos. One of his goals is to direct films.
Andrea, Kathrine and Monroe are a part of a playgroup and do fun and exciting things each week with their friends. Andrea also loves to cook and is trying to teach Kathrine how to cook. Monroe is a very active little boy who started walking at a very early age. He’s always on the go and loves playing chase with Kathrine. Dolls and Polly Pockets are Kathrine’s favorite interests. Kathrine has also enjoyed taking ballet, art, and music classes. She was on a kids soccer team last summer and is currently on the neighborhood swim team. Monroe’s favorite things are animals. When he sees a dog he gets very excited. He loves making sounds of animals.

Our relationship with God is very important to us and is a central part of our lives. We are members of a church with lots and lots of children. We enjoy taking Kathrine to church with us. She loves to sing with us in church and then enjoys the rest of the time with her friends in her Sunday school class. We are apart of a small group at our church and we meet together once a week. Some of the couples in our small group have small children, so it makes it fun for Kathrine and Monroe. We also serve in our church in other ways, including taking care of the children in the nursery and participating in the Comfort and Care Ministry.

We live in a three bedroom house with a big bonus room, play room, and sunroom. It is a great family neighborhood with lots of young children all around us. We have a neighborhood pool and two playgrounds within walking distance and we live right in front of a greenway where Garrett loves to go running.
Travel has been an important part of our lives and we’ve had the chance to travel all over the world. It has allowed us to experience many different cultures and we |
hope to provide our children with many exciting travelopportunities too. We also love to spend time together closer to home. Whether it’s going to our neighborhood pool, wrestling on the sofa with Kathrine and Monroe, reading together, or just doing silly things to make each other laugh.
Andrea has one brother who lives near us and who loves to visit Kathrine and Monroe every week. We also have very loving and supportive parents and siblings who live a bit further away. We talk to them regularly and we try to visit each other at list once or twice a year. We also love to spend special times like Christmas together with them.
